Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti hits close to home for Pinecrest. Ernst, a first year student who pastors a church of 2,000 in Port-au-Prince, had returned from Haiti two days earlier for the start of Third Quarter. Now, with his family believed safe but his church and home destroyed, he is returning to Haiti.
Today, classes were postponed as students met in the Chapel to pray for Ernst and the nation of Haiti. They joined in singing “It Is Well with My Soul,” declaring the faithfulness of God in the midst of tragedy.
